Can GATE score take you abroad?

You must be wondering where else your GATE score can take you besides IIT's, IIS's, NIT's or recruitment to certain public sector companies.

The good news is on the basis of GATE results you not only can apply in India but in some good universities abroad.

When I was staying in IIT Kanpur I was amazed to know that GATE score can also be used for admission in to certain Universities in Singapore and Germany.

Two universities which are world class university based on survey are National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU) where GATE score can be used for admission to PG program. Some programs at NUS and NTU are very competitive and comparable to the world’s best Universities.

The last date of application to these two Universities is not synchronized to GATE exam. The last date of admission in NUS is mid Nov each year for AUG intake and mid May for Jan intake.

These two universities are one of the best universities in Asia.

The only reason why students choose IITs and NITs is the high tuition fees. The scholarships offered are limited compared to IIT’s and NIT’s.

Mtech aspirants who can afford an expensive education can go for these universities for pursuing their Mtech.

Few universities in Germany like RWTH Aachen and TU Munich in particular also need valid GATE Score (though not mandatory but recommended) for Indian applicants. The best thing is that RWTH Aachen and TU Munich offer English taught Master’s program which is a major concern for foreign students.

RWTH Aachen

RWTH Aachen is a part of IDEA league and is in collaboration with Imperial College London, TU Delft, ETH Zürich, and Paris Tech universities (IDEA league).

English-taught master program Automotive Engineering is a part of RWTH Aachen University’s master program in mechanical engineering and can be pursued by Indian applicants using a valid GATE score.

TU Munich

TU Munich is a well reputed university for research in basic sciences and boasts of few noble laureates. A technical interview followed by short listing of the application for the Masters program will be required for some programs.

ESPACE Master of Science Program offers a specialization in earth system science, remote sensing, or navigation.

The tuition fees is around 500 euros per semester and course starts from the winter semester. Indian students are supposed to submit their GATE scores as an academic requirement.
